Suntory launches new vodka in Australia

Suntory Home has launched its first premium Japanese vodka, and Haku is the latest member of the premium spirits trilogy, which already includes Roku Gin and Toki Whisky.

The production process of Haku vodka began in Kagoshima, using 100% pure Japanese white rice to ferment into koji. Then it is distilled twice and sent to the Suntory Distillery in Osaka, where it is mixed and filtered using the Suntory family's proprietary bamboo charcoal method to remove all impurities, ensuring a clean and pure wine body.

Kazuyuki Torii, chief expert of Suntory (Baijiu), said: "In Suntory House, the process has been transformed into purchasing the best raw materials, and elaborate on complex and innovative technologies to create unmatched quality products.".

Haku vodka developed from a very specific vision, aiming to create a truly authentic and carefully crafted Japanese product with a unique and balanced taste

The name Haku vodka comes from the Japanese kanji and translates to "white". The root of this Chinese character is "hakumai", meaning "Japanese white rice". The name of this spirit has been elevated due to its subtle meaning, to evoke "junpaku" - "pure white," which, according to Suntory, is "its undefiled and glorious connotation.

We are pleased to continue meeting Australia's demand for Japanese craft spirits through Haku vodka, "said Lennart Sipsma, Group Marketing Manager of Beam Suntory Australia.

This new spirit of the Three Benefits Home allows consumers to experience a new interpretation of classics, a challenging experience that reflects Mr. Torii Shinjiro's eternal pursuit of excellence

Haku vodka is available at all major retailers in Australia, with a suggested retail price of $65.
